Are these familiar? Is your child struggling or diagnosed with dyslexia? RITES can help. We’re literacy specialists who use a multisensory, structured literacy approach and tailor each lesson to your student’s needs for lifelong success.
Structured Literacy instruction uses evidence-based reading and writing practices to ensure all students learn to read and write. Structured Literacy instruction helps all students learn to read and write, but is essential for those with learning differences and those struggling to learn to read.
RITES Reading Tutoring is Based on the Five Components of Structured Literacy Lessons:
- Phonemic Awareness
- Phonics
- Oral Fluency
- Vocabulary Development
- Comprehension
Research from the National Reading Panel highlighted these five skills of reading. Practicing these specific reading components can dramatically improve students’ ability to read. These skills are the basis of our Structured Literacy Tutoring, using methods such as Orton-Gillingham/Wilson, and other researched methods as outlined in the RI Department of Education Right to Read Act.
Multisensory Teaching

RITES structured literacy teachers incorporate a variety of scientifically researched and proven multisensory teaching approaches into their lessons to make sure your child is engaging their whole brain for active and effective learning to improve reading, writing, and spelling skills. Give your student a strong literacy foundation with RITES age- and grade-specific content to give your student the confidence to take on reading and writing assignments throughout their life.
