About Us

“We teach the way students learn.”
Rhode Island Tutorial & Educational Services (RITES) improves academic outcomes through personalized education with highly skilled master teachers. Our student-centered approach ensures tailored instruction, tracked progress, close parent communication, and ongoing resources for families throughout Rhode Island, southeastern Massachusetts, and beyond.
How We Improve Outcomes
RITES improves academic outcomes through 1-to-1, personalized, multisensory tutoring and small-group classes taught by specifically trained expert teachers. RITES provides the tools and strategies for success, whether a student struggles with a language-based disorder, just needs to master the content of a particular subject, or is looking for enrichment and high-achieving goals, such as SAT/ACT test prep.

- High-achieving students looking for enrichment
- Neurodiverse learners
- Students with Dyslexia, NLD, Dysgraphia, and/or Dyscalculia
- Students with ADHD and/or Executive Functioning Difficulties requiring study and organizational skills support
- High school students wanting coaching to increase scores on standardized tests
- Students looking to get better grades in high school subjects
- Adults needing to improve their literacy skills for better job and life opportunities.

Our Teachers
We have over 50 professional teachers who are carefully selected and matched to your student’s individualized needs, teaching in different communities around Rhode Island.
RITES Tutors are certified teachers with at least five years of teaching experience in local schools. They exhibit a drive to meet each student where they are at and build their skills, using a wide array of strategies, tools, and proven teaching methods that resonate personally with that student. They bring their many years of classroom teaching experience and educational training to the job of individualized tutoring. They also pursue ongoing professional development, supported by RITES, to continue to expand their “teaching toolbox.” Beyond that, they bring their love of working with all types of learners and helping them succeed to every lesson they create and provide.
Our literacy teachers, for students who are struggling with reading, have dyslexia or language processing difficulties, have additional training and certification in multisensory, structured literacy methods, such as Orton-Gillingham and Wilson.
Our test preparation teachers have been trained in the latest strategies for standardized tests, such as the SAT , ACT, HSPT, ISEE, and SSAT.
All our tutors are dedicated to giving each student personal attention. They work with each family to develop a program that works best for the student’s individual needs. Your hand-selected teacher:
- Focuses on your student exclusively
- Builds a trusting relationship for optimal learning
- Customizes each lesson to boost learning
- Uses researched, scientifically proven instruction
- Employs multisensory approaches to keep lessons engaging
- Reflects continually on your student’s progress
- Connects with you as parents
